Dear Alex.
The 4th of July has come through again and provided an awesome south swell! The waves were good Friday and Saturday with 4- 6 foot sets. I surfed my brains out both days and had some excellent rides. Friday I went straight out from our place and had 50 minutes of pure sweetness. I must've had 12 great waves within that time. I was so stoked. Fast, fun rights and lefts with nobody out but Alan and. I. So fun. I surfed w Curtis and Eric on Saturday at cherry street and the sets were pumping. It was a bit inconsistent but when they came it was awesome. I had some great waves. I will tell u about one. I was sitting just south of the pack. A wave came In to the south and I swam to get it. I was in the right spot. It was all mine. I could see the looks of jealousy as I stroked into it. I caught it at the top and hopped up and angled right. Snapped a bottom turn and headed down the line. The shoulder was fast and smooth. I worked it all the way down picking up lots of speed. I rode it all the way in and kicked out just as it closed out. Curtis was whooping it up as I passed him. Great wave. I paddled back out with a big smile. The water is warm and clear Nd there was fish everywhere. 4th of July paid sweet dividends again. :). I think that's what you asked for. Don't worry. It will all be here when u get back. Kyle and I flying home tonight. He is supposed to start football. Pray for him. He's struggling. Offer him your love and testimony. I took his phone away. I'm not going to reward bad behavior anymore. I told him I love him but he's making it hard. Oh well. The joys of parenting. Gotta get on a plane. Adam and Jenny and Ryan and Marci in cbad. Fun to see everyone. Be good. We love you. Never heard from your Pres. Oh well.
Love Dad!!!!

- i am truly jealous of this wave that you described so well... sounds like the wave of the year! hahaha... awesome! how was Curtis surfing? haha... i can not believe that he is at home in the water already! wow... and dad Tuesday the waves were pumping over here by my house... i instantly thought about the great fourth of July swell and i am glad to hear that it pulled through again. wish i could of been out there. i let some of the missionaries read your letter and they were like man, you dad is a bro! hahahahaha... you are the man dad... and yeah mom told me about what is going on with him.... how can i help him dad? what can i do? i really want to help him. you are the greatest parents a son could ever ask for dad... i am truly grateful to have you and mom and my parents and i would never trade you guys for anything... you guys are excellent parents... simply Kyle is to blind to see it because of the things of the world... he does not care one bit about the gospel because he doesn't understand it... it is the same with converts... alot of the go inactive because they never understood the doctrine... i know that is the same with kyle because i never understood it like i do now. tell him to write me please... he hasn't for a little while. just keep doing what you are doing... ask God for advice. fast and pray... he will show you the way...
we got quite a few people we are teaching... we have had some rough weeks
because my companion was crippled with his ankle but now he is ready and this
week we are going to destroy.
the spiritual experience that happened yesterday was when we were talking
with a family that we are teaching and we had a noche de hogar with their family
that are members and we talked the the holy ghost and baptism and the spirit was
really strong. it got down to the point where the mother believed our words and
at the end of the conversation she said to her husband, if you do not get
baptized, you will not be a son of Christ. it was crazy how well she was able
to understand that through baptism we become sons and daughters of Christ. to
me it was cool to see how many times the spirit has touched her heart... she has
already told us that she wants to get baptized as well. their date is for the 2
of august!
i miss you guys like crazy... nothing really new is happening over here...
teaching, eating, looking for new people, sleeping, studying, and do it again! i
love it! i am so stoked right now to be a missionary and love seeing the
blessings of my efforts. it really is true that we are blessed for our efforts.
i love you guys! i will try to write down more things to say next week!
love
