How's it going elder mac?   I am very curious if you felt that earthquake in Chile?  It made the national news.  Make sure you learn what to do in case of  earthquake .   It was great to hear you excited about who you are working with.   What a wonderful thing to get people married and baptized.   Those are big commitments.   I enjoyed watching conference today.   I really liked Uchdorfs talk about grAtitude.   I know you probably saw every session.   That's a great thing about being a full time missionary.
In other news Kyle lost his bid for senior class vp.  He was bummed. In fact, I had a long talk w him tonight.  He just seems unhappy.  Say your prayers for him.  I am worried about him.   He seems lost right now.  He is very unmotivated and seems to be lacking in direction. I hope that I can help him.  The suns are battling for a playoff spot.  Playing OKC tonight. Tough game.   We went and saw the new captain America movie tonight.   Really good.  You can look forward to it post mission.   Send us your exact address.  We are planning to go to Palo Alto over Easter holiday.  Good luck w your work.  Love you.

yooooooo daddo!!! como esta!

well to answer to your curiosity, i did not feel the earthquake but the southern part of Peru did! i am more in the northern part so no! i have felt alot of temblores which are little shakes in the earth that are not the size or magnitude of earth quakes! yeah i am really excited about this week becasue this is the first wedding on friday and i am really nervous to see how the ward helps buecause to tell you the truth dad... this ward is falling badly becasue of the gossiping and the bishop is terrible... we have talked with the president and i beleive that he might be getting released... there is so many things in this ward that makes me so sad but grateful that we dont have nearly as many problems as them in our ward back at home.  ohhh my favorite session for sure was priesthood.  wow those talks by Ridds, Oaks, uchdorf, aand Monson were incredible... i was really thrilled to hear how concerned and direct they were with us... it was a shame, only 5 priesthood holders from our ward came to the meeting when in the states the whole stake center is filled... it really is a different world in some of these wards and how much help they need.  it is why we are only assigned to one ward when in the states they are assigned to numerous! i am really really bummed to hear about what happened with Kyle... i had such high hopes and dreams for him. he probably is really disappointed with alot of things and is having a hard time finding himself but this is where scripture study and family home evening will be huge for him dad... if you sit down with him and read the scriptures even if at first he will not like it, i know that he will be grateful for it afterwards.  take all the time you can to just go golfing with him or do things that HE thinks is cool.  he will really gain alot of confidence in you and really respect your words and counsel.  it brings me alot of sadness because it brings me back to the days when i was in darkness and how it took me along time to find the light.  do everything possible for him dad... he is a great kid... help him find his potential in life... and push him in that direction. one thing i have learned from this conference is that love goes alot further then yelling.  i know you love him with all your heart but try to make that love deeper by really trying to be apart of his life.  don't give up if he shuts you out at first... its just because he is not used to it.  i know you will do the right thing dad because you did the right thing for me.  please tell him to write me. a new captian america movie! SWEET! i hope you guys are keeping track of the good movies that come out for post mission! the work is coming along,,, working with a companion who thinks quite a bit about his girlfriend which is kind of annoying and likes to disobey a few things for example music of the world.  we have set some goals but in general he is alot better then my other companion. great kid as well but personalities didn't match... i hope that you have a great week in palo alto! give scotty a huge hug for me and his decision to serve a mission! he will not regret one moment of it! its crazy how deep my knowledge of the gospel is becoming because of the mission! love you with all my heart dad! i hope we can see some miracles this week!

love your son,
elder macdonald

Hey bud.  I just watch the suns lose to the Lakers. The suns  are in the playoff hunt while the Lakers are horrible. Suns were terrible in the game and lost. Bummer!  Hate losing to the Lakers!   Did you get my email last week?   I never heard from you but I did read what you wrote to mom and Jake.   Sounds like the works been a little slow  lately.    How was this week?   Still working w some menos activos?   That's important work.  I smoked McBride on the golf course and shot a 37 (one over) on the back 9.   So stoked.   Best score on 9.   Kyle is running for senior class vice president. We have been making some posters for him. Scotti got his mission call to Tulsa Oklahoma Spanish speaking.  Crazy.  We are planning on going to Palo Alto for thanksgiving.  Very tired tonight.   Going to bed early.  Things are going well at the office.  Looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow.   Make sure you read Jesus the Christ by Talmage.   Great book.   Love you son.  Miss you like crazy.

YOOOOOOO Padreeeeeee! como estaaaaa! I have heard that the Lakers are just absolutely garbage!!! that is so amazing to hear!!!! but a bummer that the suns lost ;( and no dad i didn't get your email last week ;( i was really bummed and concerned why i didn't get one but mom sent me one which made it all good ;) but yeah the work was really slow but now it really has picked up! we have two weddings dad of two couples and after they are going to get baptized!!!! its going to be such an awesome experience because not many people here are married! they all live together because divorcement here is really expensive but to get married is really dirt cheap... but they all have a fear of getting married because it is extremely expensive to separate but we found two that are willing and ready which is awesome! like always we are working with menos activos and dad it is so sad to see how many menos activos there are in this ward... over half the ward is less active.... and you know why... the people that are within the church... it is so sad... not to mention the leaders and the bishop are what cause most of the problems... the bishop is absolute garbage... he doesn't help with the work much and didn't even go to the stake conference sessions... but we are working with him and trying to make him better... its so sad because there are some really great members but because of all the gossip and lies has made alot of people withdraw from the ward.  there is about 150 active and the other 200 are less active... sad and there isn't much we can do.... wow you smoked mcbride!!! that is awesome!!!! i wish i could play a good game of golf right now... the p-days are crap here hahahahahaa.... only soccer.... and no way!!!!!! kyle is running for vice president!!!!!!! that is so freaking awesome! he will be in my prayers that he will win!!!! tell him that i am very proud of him and what he is doing! sounds to me like he is changing a little bit! is that true? and SERIOUSLY!!!!!! Tulsa Spanish speaking!!!!!! that is awesome!!!! and he is still in the states!!! sweet gig! stoked for him! good to hear that everything is going good in the office dad! and don't worry dad i am reading it but don't have much time ;(

anyways thought i would tell you guys some of things that have happened to me and my companion this week. the first thing is that we have an investigators that are just awesome! the husband really reads and studys the book of mormon and has read to 2 nephi already... but it is really sad because satan is really working hard on them... the sister thinks that we are only there at their house helping and teaching them so that we can have sex with the wife... it is so sad that some people think that way about us and then don't really want to get to know us or what we have to offer.  its sad because i have learned that the people that are close to us, satan uses them to try to destroy them at times.  what is even more awesome is that even though they are facing this problem they are still moving forward and going to get married this 11 of April...

there is also another couple that their wedding is the 19 of April and they are trying to open a new business! we promised them that if they follow the gospel and do what they need too that god will provide the rest... sure enough... the received more space for their business and also that the first day the opened, they sold everything that they had! its so cool to see that god really has to keep his promises with his missionaries... this couple is really stoked for their marriage!

in our mission we have received 8 missionaries from Venezuela from all the crap that is going on there! one is in our district and he is pretty cool! its so sad to hear what is going in in Venezuela and how they are pulling all the missionaries out of there because of the corruption.

in my old district... they have baptized 27 people.... and when i was there we baptized no one and the rest of my district had about one or two... its crazy how well they are doing over there when they have companions willing to work, unlike me when i was there....

during the week our key got stuck in the door and broke inside the door knob and we couldn't get in so my companion told me to Spartan kick the door open! pretty cool experience because it was the first time i kicked a door open! hahahaha

yesterday we were by a skate park that has just opened and i wanted to go check it out.  when we got there some 21 year old kid came up to me and started talking to me in English... it was the first time i heard someone talking to me in English... i then started talking to him in English and had a good conversation... he ended up asking me if i had a Book of Mormon in English so that he could read it and practice his English! and to be honest, when i tried to preach to him in English... i really could not do it! it was really hard! hahaha... but cool experience for me and how just by walking someone, god put someone in my path even though he doesn't live close to us, could be a great potential for other missionaries....

anyways this is just some of the stuff that happened this week! was a great week for us and one that really lifted my spirits! i hope this week that you guys all watch conference and watch the session with a question or doubt in mind! i know that they will respond your questions if you listen carefully! i am so thankful for all that i have and all that you have done for me! you guys are always in my prayers! I miss and love you guys like crazy!

wish Kyle a happy birthday and give him a huge hug for me!!!!

love
your son elder macdonald!
