I am sitting in the San Diego airport waiting to fly home. It is spring break but I am working Monday and Tuesday. Would love to stay in cbad but gotta pay the bills. It was a beautiful day in cbad. Probably 78 degrees and very sunny. I surfed twice on Saturday so that was fun. Brent and Heidi and family were with us Saturday night and the Dahls are with us tonight. Lots of friends when your at the beach. Brad died last Sunday night. I found out Monday. I have been very sad. But I'm glad he does not have to suffer anymore. Darin iverson was in town this week for an orthodontic meeting so we got to hang out. Took him on a razor ride. It was very fun. I noticed some good wAves at the south jetty tonight. I surfed teramar last night as the sun went down. Beautiful. I hope you are well. I hope you got a new companion. I hope you are happy. Much love to you. Tell me what's going on in dust, hot, Peru.
Love, Dad

HEYYYYYYYYY daddy! como le va! i am glad to hear that you got some
great weather in cali and a little break from everything. i imagine that out in
the water really helped clear all the crap that is going on back at home. i am
very sad to hear that your good friend has past away and that i didn't get the
chance to say anything to him, but at least he is in a better place. i bet his
wife is in dire pain... so sad... sounds like all the waves were great! wish i
could of been out there riding to the sun goes down! best time to surf! but i
did get a new companion! he is elder Tunque and i knew him back in Ancon! i was
really nervous because he was a very lazy person back then but he has gone
through a crazy change and is a great missionary... we already had a really good
relationship and i believe and hope that we will do some damage in our area...
what prevents so much success is the freaking leaders in our ward... they love to
complain and make justifications instead of just helping. the wards are so
different and i am so grateful that we live in a ward where there is order and
where things get done. we found a menos activo and him and his wife are married
and have a 10 year old son... they came to church with us and when we went to
pick them up, you should of seen the way they all looked and got dressed up for
church... almost put me in tears. i really hope that we can marry this family
and that his wife and son can get baptized in this change. we are hoping to
marry another couple with a 4 year old boy and another on the way. a great
little family that live in a house the size your bathroom. in this ward there
are more than half the ward less active and i don't know how but there are many
less active returned missionaries that do not come either. i really don't
understand after 2 years of dedicating your life to the lord and preaching about
the Sabbath day and the sacrament and after their missions its like they didn't
learn anything. these are some of the problems of this ward. is really bad.
but i am thankful that i have the opportunity to change so many peoples lives.
i have had some cool experiences this week... for example...
one spiritual experience this week was that we were walking down some dark
streets one night in search of some menos activos... we were on one side of the
street when a women came out... i do not know how she saw us or how she heard us
but the first thing that she said to us was,[ are you looking for my daughters[
.... we had no idea who this women was... we quickly approached her and found
out that all of her daughters are members and that the women and her husband are
not. one thing i know for a fact is no matter where we go, the lord is always
watching over his lost sheep and will do what is necessary so that they are
found.
how is everything at home! work, the dudes, mom, the church, the scripture
study! i know that these next few months really going to change my whole
missionary and me. i am very excited to see what is in store and the things that
i will learn... i realized that i became a different person when i was with
elder diaz but now i feel more like myself. I'm ready to through it in second
gear and start getting this show on the road!
love you more than anything dad
and mom!
