Hey Alex;
Judging by the pictures you probably see that Jake and I went skiing up in Salt Lake for the weekend. We went snowboarding at solitude on Friday and Park city on Saturday. The conditions were pretty good, we hiked to find powder most of the day. Darin Iverson flew in from Virginia and snowboarded with us. We had a great time. I went for a run with mom this morning in the desert and tripped and fell on a rock and cut open my knee and cut my left hand. I also hurt my left shoulder. I feel like a real klutz. Hopefully I will heal quickly. The suns have been doing really well lately. They are very fun to watch.
How is everything going in Peru? Have you found any new interesting people to teach? I was really glad to hear that you are working to reactivate members. It is my personal opinion that that is important as baptizing the new member. If any of this sounds weird it is because I am dictating it off of my phone while I'm watching the last two minutes of the suns game. I thought of you many times while I was skiing in Park city and told Darin several times how much I missed you being there. But I know we will enjoy that again in a short while. We are very proud of what you are doing and pray for you every day. Good luck in this most important work.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PADREEEEE!
como estasss! puedo ver que ustedes se fueron a esquiar! que chevre! estoy
muy celoso! i hope that you you can read a little bit of the spanish i wrote, if
not, you can put it in google translate :) but that's awesome you guys went
snowboarding up in park city and by the pictures the snow looked awesome and you
got some powder! how did Jake do in the back country? and that is awesome that
Darin came too! that is funny that he said he missed snowboarding with me! we
will have to do a snowboarding trip to Alaska i guess ;) would be sweet! and
hahahah dad every email you make me feel that you are becoming and old man!!
this week you tripped and destroyed yourself, what is next week going to bring!
hahahahahaha... i hope you heal quickly!
this week we had a baptism!!!!!!! se llama hermana conny! she is a single
mother with an 8 year old son who i believe we will baptize him when the mom
feels a little more comfortable with the church but she was the first person i
have baptized in the mission... she is part of a family that is less active
which is a lot easier to find investigators because there is a million part
families. but i was so nervous when i was saying the words to baptize her it
was ridiculous! not to mention she didn't bend her knees at all so i accidentally
put her under the water to far but i was still able to pull her out fine but she
was under a tad bit longer than normal! hahahaha... but what an experience it
was for me to be able to help someone make a covenant with god and how now she
is on the right path to salvation. it really sparked my determination to find
more people and show them the path. we also helped a father baptize her daughter
that same day too! it was a great experience to the joy this man had for his
daughter that is eight years old. very cool experiences.... we also have a
couple that is not married but we are in the run to get the married so that they
can be baptized! its a family of three! they are very interested and assisted
the church with us already. tomorrow we are going to know about a date for the
wedding and everything. other than that we are still on the drawing board
trying to find people that want to accept our message! but things are getting
better day by day, Spanish is still a struggle like always but i can express my
self about 70 percent. need to improve the vocabulary. and i totally agree
that reactivating is just as important and we have reactivated quite a few
poeple already. 8 to be exact! its still blazing hot here and my tan lines are
getting worse every day hahaha. the stomach is still mas or menos but i'm getting
used to the food. still dreaming of the day i can go surfing! Kurtis finishes
in 5 months. crazy! anyways things are going good! we are having some problems
in the ward with my companion but its getting resolved. one thing that i have
noticed is that here they take all the good leaders and put them in the stakes.
there is a elder that has baptized 14 weeks in a row... crazy too.! anyways i
hope you like some of the pictures! love you with all my heart mom and
dad!
love your son!

:) Alex, we love you! Keep up the great work! I hope my Spanish still makes a little sense. Ha. Love Uncle Matt

How are you doing? I hope that you are having a great time in Peru. Just know that we are all thinking about you. How much of a change is it in Peru? I want to go somewhere exotic too so I can learn a new language, like Japan or New Zealand. So happy that you baptized someone to change their lives. Hope that you are having a great time.
Love You!!GoodLuck!
Hey Alex this is your cousin Damon. How's Peru? Well any ways I was talking to my Mom and Dad about what they ate on their missions, and what was the most nasty thing they ate. Do you guys eat weird stuff in Peru? Yeah, I just want to say I miss you and I know the work your doing is important, and thanks for being a good example for all of us here. Damon
