hola dad!
que tal? i am digging the videos that you sent me! i saw some good top snow
and a fun little snowbasin drop! i bet you guys had a good time and i am sure it
was good to see tio Alan and Clark! and byu has got some good volleyball... i
watched some really good games. and sucks to hear that the patriots are the new
superbowl champions... hate them... haha.... but oh well. and i cant read about
it so you got to write me about it! and i was a bit curious why it was just you
and Jake but Kyle is now working at chipotle huh? good for him! make sure you
teach him the importance of paying his tithing with that money he receives and
that he doesn't work Sundays... now that i look back at it that was one of the
small things that moved me away from the church....and i see what it does here
in Peru where everyone works domingos and its rare to find people where we are
serving that work alot more that 40 hours a week... i have learned a really good
lesson about the sabbath day and how important it is keep it holy. if Kyle
works Sundays it will pull him away like it did to me. but i am really happy
that he got a job... he will learn alot and grow up more as well and will be
able to gain a testimony about tithing at an early age. and so the plan is for
me to get released over in San Diego? sounds good to me.
we are working with the family hidalgo who the father that has been a
member for 34 years and his wife 10 and they are not sealed in the temple and
they have come to church three weeks in a row now and are in the classes for the
temple and we are really helping them get to the temple... i really hope to be
able to witness that moment when they get sealed. hermano toledo that we are
teaching has come to church for the second time in a row for all three hours and
is loving it... the only problem we are having is that his wife doesn't feel
comfortable listening and hasn't listened to any of the convos... he already
wants to get baptized and go to the temple haha... we just need to help his
wife... beautiful family of 3. we have a few more like Hermano llanos who
speaks perfect English... he accepted to be baptized as well and has his wife
Laura and a little baby Salvador... we are helping them as well! and many
more... its crazy because hermano llanos didn't have work for months and when we
arrived he said that as he was reading the Book of Mormon and trying to really
understand it, he said that things started to change in his life... he told us
that he looked forward to coming home, wasn't fighting so much with his wife and
that they are getting along better, that his house feels brighter and not so
dark and that there are good spirits with in... we told him that its because
that the book of Mormon can really change the life of a human being if he really
tries to read and understand and want to know if its true... its cool to see how
blessed we can be by just reading this book and putting in practices its
precepts like this man is doing. hope that Satan doesn't get involved.
anyways this work is true. so glad to be apart of it and to help the lord
fight a war that is not visible to the human eye, only to those who know the
truth are able to see the battle that we face and fight.
les amo mucho!!!

Dear Alex;
How's it going buddy! Jake and I just got back from spending the weekend in Utah. We went to Snowbird on Friday with Alan and Cade and had a good time all day Friday. It was overcast and visibility was pretty low. Saturday Jake and I went up with Clark Izu and his son Ethan and shredded all day long. There was about 3 inches of powder and it was a bluebird day. We had a really good time in mineral basin. I went to BYU volleyball game with uncle Alan and some friends and it was really fun. Overall there's not as much snow in Utah as usual so it is a good year for you not to be snowboarding. The Super Bowl is over and New England Patriots are the new world champions. They barely edged out Seattle in the last seconds of the game. It was a really good game but a crazy game. You'll have to read about it if you can.
Kyle was unable to go to Utah with us as he is now employed at chipotle. He is going through his training and could not miss work. He had a Super Bowl party at our house tonight and we went over and watched most of it at the McBride's house. Super Bowl Sunday is always fun.
I talked w president Whimpey and he said it would be okay to fly you into San Diego. Then, he will release you by Skype. That way you can spend some quality time at the beach. Love you bud, time for me to go to bed. Good luck in your work, May the Lord bless you and keep you safe.
Love Dad
PS. I made a movie of our boarding/shredding at Snowbird. Hopefully you can open it and watch.
